The older I get, two things seem to be happening to my personality. 1.  I just can't be bothered to care about most things anymore. 2. The intensity of my feelings for the things I do care about are rising exponentially. It is actually causing me an unfamiliar kind of pain, wherein I spend an unusual amount of my time wondering about most precious people and what'll happen when they die. Of course, the answer is: Life will keep moving. The day after their death, nothing in my immediate surroundings will have changed. Whew. Got a little swamped there. But it's good to be working down to the wire sometimes. The stress is exhilarating. That said, I didn't spend all this time being a bum.
